Our Vision
East Columbus Homeschool Organization (ECHO) is a CHRISTIAN nonprofit organization established on the belief that parent-led, home-based instruction, i.e., “homeschooling”, is a powerful and beneficial educational tool—one that should be accessible and supported for all families, regardless of ethnic background or economic status.
Our Mission
At its core, ECHO exists to empower parents as primary educators, encouraging them to take active roles in their children's learning journey. Our mission is rooted in the belief that education is discipleship, and God has dictated clearly who is responsible for ensuring children learn, and what they should be taught (Deuteronomy 6:6–7).
ECHO equips families to live counter-culturally—prioritizing faith, family, and biblical truth over the consumerism and conformity of the world. We assist families in cultivating their child’s unique gifts for Kingdom impact by connecting families with resources and communities of support so they can raise children who are strong in conviction, steadfast in faith, and wise in their pursuit of knowledge—using all they learn to glorify God and advance His Kingdom.
We believe parent-led, home/community-based education is the optimal way to accomplish this. Therefore, ECHO is committed to walking alongside families who dare to step outside of their comfort zones to take on the challenge of homeschooling. We especially strive to promote homeschooling to families who face unique challenges to homeschooling (i.e., families from minority ethnic groups, families with significant financial limitations). We believe no family should have to homeschool alone!
Whether families are seasoned homeschoolers or just beginning to explore alternatives to the modern education system, ECHO’s mission is to come alongside them to provide a supportive and resource-rich environment where they can be successful.
